Cuisinart offers highly innovative grind & brew coffeepots. Their coffee machines are considered the best by many consumers which is why they are selling machines like lemonades. But then, these machines can be prone to machine failures too.
One common problem is a grinder that won't work. The grinder usually works seamless and then suddenly it has stopped functioning. What to do?
Cuisinart
If you have not been cleaning your grinder properly, this can be the cause of the problem. Washing it just will not cut it. Some of the essential oils and coffee grounds can be left behind and they will harden up after some time. Not only that, they tend to go rancid so it messes up with the real taste of the coffee grounds.
What you can do is to try to find out if there really is something stuck. Usually, you can find the problem in the space between the grinder basket and the filter basket. If some coffee grounds are there, clean it.
Mix clean water with vinegar and dip a clean towel in it. Use it to clean that area. It will help dissolve the sediments and the coffee essential oils that have clung to the slot. If this is already clean, move on to the grinder motor.
Usually, Cuisinart provides a cleaning brush. Use this to clean the motor and remove any visible ground coffee that may have stuck there. Once you have cleaned this area already, it should work nicely again. Try grinding and it should work seamlessly.
Some people have trouble cleaning their coffee grinder because they cannot remove the grinder basket. It seems to be stuck in the machine. There are quite a number of people who have experienced this problem. Using force to remove the basket can break the whole thing and you might end up with an even worse problem.
What you can do is to remove the filter basket first. This is usually located close to the basket grinder. This way, you can have better access to the grinder. The slot area I was talking about earlier can be pried loose using a screw driver. Slowly pry it loose using a jiggling motion so it can come off easily. Support the bottom of the grinder so it will not crack. Try to do this and it should come off easily.
Now that you have solved your Cuisinart Grind & Brew coffeepot problem, you should be able to enjoy a good coffee experience.
